One person’s rights extend right up to the point where they infringe on another’s. There are plenty of times in the course of normal flying where passengers are mandated by Federal law to comply with flight crew instructions and stay seated. Consequently, passengers would have little little recourse to avoid the disturbance created by in-flight calls – reason enough why such calls should not be permitted. The idea that social pressure would deter egregious behavior on flights can be easily extinguished by flying more often. Recent altercations springing up from seat reclining drive that point home.
