Why isn't anyone counter-robo-complaining based on the PTC activity? If it's so easy to bomb the FCC with complaints, why not follow what the PTC is highlighting and solicit complaints about every single show except that one (or just shows that the PTC would seem to approve of)?

Certainly the complaints would be spurious, but the FCC doesn't provide any way to "up vote" a show. The only way to do so effectively would be to "down vote" everything else.

What would the substance of the counter-complaint be? I don't know, but I'm sure that someone creative could come up with something that would prevent the FCC from disregarding it.

(On the other hand, why not simply flood the FCC with "I disagree with the PTC" letters instead?)

At this point, it's a he-said, she-said since the evidence for either claim is not exactly public.

For the record, there were a total of 7120 complaints were filed about that episode of Family Guy via www.parentstv.org

Where did you get that number?

It's obvious that you didn't bother to read his linked paper, the Ars Technica article, or understand present law. The PTC is certainly advocating "more regulation" of broadcast television, as all definitions of indecency in law are dependent upon the "average person applying contemporary community standards". I would feel completely comfortable asserting that the PTC does NOT represent the viewpoint of the majority of the American community.

If you don't want your children watching a show, be a parent and take control of your television. I'm not your child, and I don't need you lobbying "big brother" to tell me what I can and can't see on MY airwaves because you're too lazy to be responsible for raising your child.

I’m afraid your thesis is incorrect, and the PTC is not advocating "more regulation" of TV - merely enforcement of present law.
Cheers, Adam!
