Don’t Expect Your School to Raise Your Kid

I wish my local school would use this answering machine message. Too many whiney parents these days, always expecting their school or someone else to raise their kids for them.

Yeah – it's funny – but it does cut both ways, doesnt it? There are parents who are the good ones – dealing with brain dead schools stuck in the last century who still believe children should be seen and not heard – and being 900 years old, feel no obligation to either learn or teach new technology. The video is funny – but our education system is miserably broken.

This is not a true story; although group of teachers did draft in response to frustration over school board policy and action, it was not ever actually used. Check out: http://www.snopes.com/humor/iftrue/palisades.asp
