Interviews

I’ve doing several interviews this week. In a couple of hours I’m interviewing Patri Friedman about Seasteading. Then, tomorrow I’ll be talking to Jim Bessen of Patent Failure fame, and the president of the Encyclopedia Britannica. What should I ask them?

Here are some questions I would ask Patri.

What are some of the technical limitations to Seasteading?
What size do you envision these communities starting at?
How large do you envision them growing?
Do you yourself plan to join/start one? If so what do you envision as some of the major hurdles once the community has been launched? How would you address these issues?
What industries to you foresee supporting these communities to make them viable for the long term?

With the cruise ship industry moving up to bigger and bigger ships, why design your own hardware instead of using a previous-generation cruise ship like sea-code.com?

How far offshore is the Coast Guard allowed to board you?
  • How large do you envision them growing? Do you yourself plan to join/start one? If so what do you envision as some of the major hurdles once the community has been launched? How would you address these issues?
