HSGAC staff has been good enough to correct the record on availability of hearings.

Live hearings are available at http://www.hsgac.senate.gov/index.cfm?Fuseaction=Hearings.Live.

The video of this morning's hearing is at http://www.hsgac.senate.gov/index.cfm?Fuseaction=Hearings.Detail&HearingID=513.

And archived versions of hearings are placed on the HSGAC site as soon as they’re available.

(Thanks, Jerry, for makin' me look like a jerk!)

Privacy impact assessments are paperwork required by the E-Gov Act to reveal the privacy consequences of IT systems or projects. Generally a good thing. I haven't been following whether there are changes to the PIA process or requirements in the E-Gov reauthorization bill.

I was amused to see a private entity (Jerry) scoop the HSGAC on releasing audio of its hearings. Pledges from government officials notwithstanding, I think that will be common. After all, transparency doesn't do much to serve the interests of government institutions or their employees.
