Like MikeT said, we need to keep hope alive! I think where progress can be made is with the parents. I think they really don't understand the dangers their kids are subject to while on the internet. If parents were more educated about it, they might play more attention to what his/her child does online. A friend of mine sent me a great site, NetSmartz411.org, which is an educational tool for anyone looking to keep their kids safer online. If a parent has a question, they can email people at this site who can respond with personalized answers. I believe it was created by the NCMEC and the Qwest Foundation. Hopefully if more parents know the dangers of the internet, they will pay more attention to what their kids are doing online.
