Multi-Touch Prior Art

Mike Masnick has some good comments on the iPhone. Most interestingly, he points out that many of the technologies have been demonstrated before. Here is a really cool video demonstrating multi-touch interfaces from last February. The only thing it’s missing is Steve’s legendary Reality Distortion Field.

    Noel: A more fundamental question. Why is the patent office allowing these patents? If the patent office was doing its job, the patents would be rejected.

    Ted: Really? I’ve watched the video twice now and I didn’t catch that. At what point in the video does he mention that? Or are you saying that Han helped Apple get the patents?
