Chemicals Regs in Europe

    Well, gee, thannks for puting a link to a subscription only service without any thoughts on the subject.

    In any case, having designed laboratory and pharmacuetical production spaces in both Europe and in America, I will say that, at least as of 2000, the regulations in Europe, as enforced (at least in Spain and Poland) were not as stringent as in the USA.

    Let me also add the the current regulatory framework in USA totally sucks. My clients are expected to list all the chemicals they have in a given facility. One of them quite correctly noted: “Well, if we knew exactly what we were doing, we wouldn’t be researchers, would we?”

    Also, in the aftermath of Bhopal, I would hope that there would be some kind of universal strict liability rules put in force. for certain activities in population centers.
