Using technology for security at ticketed events is a trend that I believe we will continue to see more of. I think the major players will eventually switch over to a system that links the tickets to a credit card as opposed to issuing a paper ticket that can be sold and given away. The card would then be swiped at the gate in a similar fashion to what the airline industry does. Even small venues are interested in ticket printing security although they can easily get by with less sophisticated techniques for raffle tickets and general admission ticket events.
