The only problem with this...

Now while I am in favor of this and I do monitor what my kids do on TV and internet and video games, and radio, and magazines...

There is one small area I cannot monitor... and that is

COMMERCIALS!

Even if I dive for the remote and start flipping like crazy, the damage is done. Commercials have to be more family friendly or at least cable channels (and broadcast) need to be more aware of what they put on and when.

If I am watching Star Trek with my kids, I do not want a porno ad on in the middle while I go to the bathroom and my kids are there by themselves.

Ditto on that amen. But please can we extend this call for parental responsibility to all forms of content? Radio, magazines, video games, and online services should all be regulated in the same manner. I'm tired of parents trying to regulate everyone's tastes just because they're too busy or too lazy to step up and do it themselves.
