After all, the original CDDB wouldn&#039;t have existed if not for the voluntary contributions of millions of users who would tediously enter information &lt;em&gt;into&lt;/em&gt; the database, free of charge.  It was almost like a game of who could enter the latest (or most obscure) albums into the database first.  And then next thing you know, this &quot;community&quot; tool was telling users &quot;thanks for the data&quot; but we think we&#039;ll turn this into a business now.  It&#039;s possible these privacy advocates have other axes to grind.&lt;/p&gt;
